Hello
I'm a great fan of e-txt and have been using for a few years now.
I've just upgrade my PC and installed Vista Ultimate 64 Bit.
I've installed a fresh copy of e-txt but whenever I try to start it I get a message saying "e-txt.exe has encountered a user-defined breakpoint". It then asks me for database details (even though this is a standalone installation).
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but the problem persists.
Any thoughts on what I should do next?
Thanks!

Hi! This has been on ongoing issue for quite some time. Unfortunately e-txt does not work with any 64-bit machines due to a mix up with the Microsoft.Jet engine used for database connectivity. e-txt by default always looks inside Program Files for the dll to enable database usage, but since Microsoft.Jet is primarily a 32-bit application, on a 64-bit machine it is contained in "Program Files (x86)". Unfortunately it is not that simple to just change directories and that's that. We are in the process of getting this sorted out as soon as possible, but for the meantime, would it be possible for you to use the e-txt Web version? It is on http://www.services.dynmark.com/etxtweb or http://dmp.dynmark.com/etxtweb

Hello again
Any new developments with this issue?
Has development stopped completely with the e-txt client? There don't seem to have been any new releases for almost 2 years now...
Kind regards

Hi a.carneiro
Our apologies for not keeping the forum 100% up to date, we have done a new release of e-txt (version 5.3.2) in the last year.
This is available for download from the e-txt site.
Unfortunately there is no support for 64-bit Operating System at the moment, as this proves to be quite troublesome to fix.
